Job Summary/Basic Function:
Under the general direction of the Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Human Resources, the Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer serves a key role, working with University leadership and staff to attract, retain, and develop a diversified workforce to support the University's mission. This position oversees one or more of the HR functional areas and serves as the department head in the absence of the AVP.


Required Qualifications:
Degree (i.e. bachelors, masters, doctorate) from a regionally accredited college or university in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Higher Education or related field

Five years related professional experience including two years of supervisory experience.


Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, MBA, Higher Education Administration or related field
Higher Education experience
Knowledge and understanding of multiple HR disciplines is highly preferred including employee relations, employment law, compensation, position classification, talent management and compliance.
Ability to develop and execute creative plans to resolve issues, problem solve, and mitigate risks
Skilled in designing and developing organizational leadership strategies to support strategic goals and initiatives
Excellent communication skills
Supervision experience
HR certification through SHRM or HRCI
