Position Summary

This position will serve as the primary liaison between academic affairs, human resources, and academic departments with responsibilities for multiple aspects related to faculty, including but not limited to letters of agreement (LOA's), immigration work, and the adjunct faculty collective bargaining unit.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

A degree in a related field and a minimum of five years' experience in a university or HR setting.

Preferred Education and Experience

Advanced training in labor and/or faculty relations will be considered a positive in preparing for success in this position.

Required Other Training, Certifications, or Licensing

Job Duties
  • Faculty Personnel Management
    • Review and prepare all full-time faculty and staff hires encompassing credential review, when necessary, verification of funding
    • Assist with review of Letters of Agreement (LOA) for accuracy
    • Administer the promotion and tenure process
    • Prepare and process phased retirement agreements
    • Assist with salary spreadsheet review as needed pertaining to faculty LOAs
  • Faculty/Human Resources Liaison
    • Serves as the liaison between faculty members and department chairs with human resources for immigration work, including visas and sponsorship
    • Collaborates on maintaining up to date immigration policies and procedures.
    • In collaboration with human resources, communicates university policies and procedures on immigration to for faculty and hiring managers
    • Serve as a liaison for faculty for other human resources needs/questions
  • Reporting
    • Prepare various institutional reports, collect data, develop summaries, and reports the status of the collective bargaining unit
    • Works with Institutional Research on the Academic Dashboard
    • Serve as provost office backup on office reports (student perceptions of teaching, GPA, office hours, etc)
  • Collective Bargaining Agreement Coordination
    • Monitor timing for administration of the policies in the Collective Bargaining Agreement
    • Coordinate the day-to-day administration of bargaining agreement activities to ensure university compliance
    • Serve as the initial point of contact for academic affairs as it pertains to the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Provide information and guidance for next steps.
    • Develop and conduct training for departments relative to the Collective Bargaining Agreement
    • Maintain strong union and management relations
